About Butler Suite Born in a lab, for everyone who wants to keep their data.
Butler Suite is developed at TU Wien’s Institute of Applied Physics — a place where research data, lab notes and unpublished results do not belong in someone else’s cloud. That requirement became an AI workspace that stays with its users.

The story
An AI that never leaves the lab.
At the institute we needed what everyone needs: minutes of meetings, summaries of papers, translations, the right passage in hundreds of documents. The well-known cloud assistants were out of the question — too much of it is confidential.
So we built Butler: chat, transcription, translation, research and Office files on our own hardware, with open models. Teams at the institute use it every day, and Butler Suite brings the same workspace to companies, institutions and associations.
What we hold to
Three principles.
Your data stays yours
No document and no recording trains a model — not ours, not anyone else’s.
As close to you as possible
From the subscription in Vienna to a server in your building: you choose where the computing happens, and we say plainly where it is.
Tools, not promises
What this website shows, the product does on screen — the videos are recorded in the real application.
